Academician Kalina Bogoeva is one of the most famous Bulgarian ballerinas. In 1958-988 she was a prima ballerina of National Opera and Ballet in Sofia – as Oddeta/Odilia, Myrtha, Kitri, Zarema, Raymonda, Medea.
She has the authority of a great specialist in education method in classical ballet (Russian school), and in study of the classical ballet repertoire.
She is the creator and leader of the subject Ballet Pedagogics in the State Music Academy in Sofia and of an branch of it in Athens, Greece. She teaches Classic Dance, Classic Repertoire, Dance Composition and Ballet Pedagogics.
Kalina Borogeva is a president of the International Summer Dance Academy in Varna.
1994 – 1998 she was an Artistic Director of Arabesque Dance Company. In 1995 she created the Competition for Contemporary Choreography under Bulgarian Music for the Award on the Name of Margarita Arnauodova – a great Bulgarian choreographer and Artistic Director of Arabesque Dance Company during 20 years. A whole generation of young Bulgarian choreographers won recognition since the establishment of “Margarita Arnaudova” competition and these artists are presently the front face of the contemporary Bulgarian choreography – Boryana Sechanova, presently the director of the ensemble, Mila Iskrenova, Antonia Dokeva, Olessia Pantikina, Rossen Mihailov, Galina Borisova, Petya Stoikova, Ivo Dimchev, etc.
Kalina Bogoeva is a president of “Kalina Bogoeva” foundation – co-organizer of the 1st International edition of the choreographic competition “Margarita Arnaoudova”.
